The Duende fire wire unit holds the digital processors based on the SSL’s C-Series digital consoles. The Waves SSL 4000 is the analogue emulation certified by Solid State Logic (featuring the SSL G-Master Buss Compressor, the SSL G-Equalizer and the SSL E-Channel strip). almost all of my comrades have bought the waves ssl package, this would work better for me because this wouldnt tax the computers cpu. SSl just released a rack unit ,32 channels of their highly acclaimed plug ins of the c-series digital console with firewire connectivity support for vst, rtas,au ,i would like to know if digi is going to support this unit with le or even hd, I gave up my gear addiction years ago,but if digi supports this ill have to jump in head first.

Feel free to speculate as to why that is. Don't you find it curious that none of the DSP plugin developers support RTAS? UAD1,Powercore,SSL Duende,Focusrite Liquid Mix etc none of these devs support RTAS. Don't automatically assume that it's the plugin developer that doesn't want to support RTAS. Plugin developers have to apply to Digidesign and Digi will decide if they will send them a dev kit or not. OTOH, while it would be SSL's duty to write an RTAS version, keep in mind that (unlike VST/AU) RTAS is not open source. That is absolutely correct about the wrapper. It would be up to SSL, not digi to write an RTAS ro HTDM type of plugin So indirectly yes through FXPANSIONS wrapper I would like to know if digi is going to support this unit with le or even hd, I gave up my gear addiction years ago,but if digi supports this ill have to jump in head first.
